We are an initiative weaving an African Brain economy through creativity, trust, community and advocacy. We envision a future where African artforms play a central role in shaping cognitive wellness, cultural resilience & social economic transformation. By empowering creatives through merging artistic expression with brain health awareness, Memory Mosaics nurtures a movement that values imagination, community, connection and empathy as key ingredients for collective well-being and innovation across Africa.
“My late grandmother, a gifted storyteller and craftswoman whose hands wove stories through crochet and whose voice shaped our sense of care, community, and belonging. Her journey with dementia, before her passing in 2018, revealed both the fragility and resilience of memory. Though her stories grew quiet, the values she instilled continue to guide and inspire my work. Through art, I carry her legacy forward, honoring her life by fostering connection, preserving memory, and creating spaces of empathy, awareness, and healing for others navigating similar paths.” – Kiggundu Rodney
Why Art & Brain Health
Art has a powerful connection to memory, emotion and identity. Creative practices such as painting, storytelling, weaving and music can stimulate the brain, supoport emotional expression and strengthen social connection. For many people, especially elders and those experiencing memory changes, art provides a gentle and meaningful way to recall experiences, share stories and remain engaged with their communities.
Operating Where It Matters Most.

Our Mission is to empower African communities through merging artistic expression with brain health awareness and collaboration.
Creative workshops (painting, sculpture, mosaics, etc.) boost brain health and celebrate culture. Elders’ stories become art; traditional arts, music & dance support memory. Brain practices are integrated. Quarterly “Build Your Brain Bank” connects young creatives from Cameroon, Uganda & USA.
Bringing generations together through Caregiver Dialogue Circles, storytelling, art collaborations, Welcome Wagons for new elders, Family Brain Health Fun Fairs (with mindfulness, games, cooking & health checks), and Elders Creative Circles for seniors.
